Conquer the Skies with Peterborough & Spalding Gliding Club – An In-depth Guide to Glider Experiences
Have you ever dreamed of conquering the skies? Peterborough & Spalding Gliding Club (PSGC) offers world-class gliding experiences, from a simple one off half hour flight experience lesson to multiple lessons all the way up to flying solo. But before you take to the air, there are some important things to know. In this blog post, we will explore everything that comes with a glider experience at PSGC, including pricing, safety, and how easy it is to learn. Read on for an in-depth guide to glider experiences at PSGC!
How much does it cost to go gliding with PSGC? Probably not as much as you think. Every member of our club is a volunteer, so all our fees go to our costs, such as maintenance, tow plane fuel, airfield running costs etc. Our fees are shown on our prices page but basically you pay a yearly membership, then each flight is charged per minute flying time, plus a launch fee based on height (which is your decision). We offer introductory flights which includes 2 months membership from £99. We also run a weeks gliding course during the summer for around £700 including full membership.
Is gliding hard to learn? Learning to fly a glider is not as hard as one might think! After just a few flights, most people start feeling confident with the flight controls. It’s similar to learning how to ride a bicycle – once you have “cracked it” you don’t forget! There is no upper age limit either; as long as one meets some minimum medical requirements, they are welcome at PSGC!
Are gliders safe? Absolutely! You can even fly solo when you’re 14 years old—long before you can get your car driver’s license! At PSGC safety is always our top priority; our experienced instructors make sure that everyone follows proper safety protocols so that each pilot has an enjoyable and safe experience in the sky.
Are you looking for an exciting glider flying experience? Flying a glider is a remarkable way to soar through the air. Seated in a comfortable and enclosed cockpit, gliders can take advantage of thermals, hill lift, or wave to provide them with more height. With their amazingly efficient aerodynamic design, gliders don’t rely on wind. In fact, gliding allows you to make the most of seemingly still conditions by maximising their lift capabilities. So don’t delay any longer and jump in today! Experience the freedom of gliding yourself and see what it’s like to fly like a bird.
Conclusion: A great way of experiencing the thrill of conquering the skies is by taking part in Peterborough & Spalding Gliding Club’s world-class experiences. Whether you’re looking for just a Voucher flight experience or something more comprehensive like flying regularly or a weeks course, PSGC offers plenty of options that fit any budget and skill level. With experienced instructors ensuring safety protocols are followed and no upper age limit subject to some minimum medical requirements, anyone can join in on this thrilling adventure! So why not give it try today? You will not regret it!
